If you're a business owner looking to start digital marketing on Facebook and Instagram, the first (and most important) step is setting up a Meta Business Account. This guide will walk you through the process clearly so you’re not left in a black box.

Meta (formerly Facebook) provides a tool called Meta Business Manager—a free dashboard that lets you manage your Facebook Page, Instagram account, Ads Manager, and team access—all in one place.

✅ Step 1: Go to Meta Business Suite

Note: You’ll need a personal Facebook profile to get started. This doesn’t make your personal profile public—it’s just for ownership and login purposes.

✅ Step 2: Set Up Your Business Manager

  • Enter your business name, your name, and business email address.

  • Click "Submit".

You’ll now be inside Meta Business Manager—your central command hub.

✅ Step 3: Add Your Facebook Page

If you already have a Facebook Page for your business:

  • In the left menu, go to Business Settings → Pages

  • Click Add → Add a Page

  • Search for and select your business page

If you don’t have one:

  • Click Add → Create a Page

  • Choose the category, name, and details

✅ Step 4: Connect Your Instagram Account

  • In Business Settings, go to Accounts → Instagram Accounts

  • Click Add → Connect your Instagram

  • Log in with your Instagram business account credentials

Make sure your Instagram is a "Professional" (Business or Creator) account. You can switch it under your Instagram settings.

✅ Step 5: Set Up Ad Account

  • In Business Settings → Ad Accounts → Add

  • Choose Create a New Ad Account

  • Give it a name, set the time zone, currency, and assign access to yourself or team members

This is the account you’ll use to run paid ads on Facebook and Instagram.

✅ Step 6: Add People & Assign Roles

You can invite team members, marketers, or agencies:

  • Go to Business Settings → Users → People

  • Click Add

  • Enter their email and assign a role (Admin, Employee, or Custom access)

✅ Step 7: Set Up Your Payment Method

  • Go to Payment Settings under Ad Account Settings

  • Click Add Payment Method

  • Add a credit/debit card or PayPal account

✅ Step 8: Verify Your Domain (Optional but Recommended)

If you’re running ads that send people to your website:

  • Go to Brand Safety → Domains

  • Click Add, enter your domain, and follow the instructions to verify via DNS or HTML tag

✅ Step 9: Start Using Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager

You can now:

  • Schedule posts and stories via Meta Business Suite

  • Create and manage ads in Ads Manager

  • Track results, performance, and audience insights

✅ Pro Tips:

  • Use two-factor authentication for account security

  • Bookmark business.facebook.com for quick access

  • Set up Facebook Pixel on your website for better ad tracking (optional but powerful)
